This is a magnificent 4 branch Centrepiece Epergne in the Victorian style but perhaps made in the Edwardian period. In silverplate by the eminent silversmiths Israel Freeman it has five bowls made, we think, by Frederick Stuart. It is an exceptional piece but made more so by the fact that the condition is remarkable with no recognisable damage to the crystal and very good integrity on the silver. We have provenance on it going back over half a century and know that it has been stored for a good proportion of its existence. Believed to have originally furnished a large house in Wimbledon. The main bowl is 29 x 52cm and the four smaller bowls are 13cm diameter. Beautiful and really quite rare.
