A Pair of gilded Liqueur Decanters in St Louis’s famous ‘frosted’ Nelly Pattern. St Louis, the world’s oldest cristallerie based in Lorraine France, used this pattern in dressing table and perfume sets between 1890 -1914. These are most sought after in themselves but it is highly unusual to find these two exquisite Liqueur Decanters in the pattern although it can be clearly seen in the 1908 catalogue. Pyramid in style and almost directly identical to Baccarat’s ‘Pyramide.’ Gilded in bands from the base to the stopper tip. As can be seen from the photos the frosted effect is in fact a myriad of aggregated etchwork. Quite stunning. We obtained these from the Estate of a collector in Stourbridge (of all places). In extraordinary condition and very rare indeed.
